     Bridget Murnane was born on 10 July 1837 in St. Ailbe's Church, Emly, County Tipperary, Ireland; Sponsors for the baptism were John Murnane and Mary Adams. The 1910 Census indicates that her birthdate was August 1840. The death certificate gives a date of birth as 9 Aug 1839.1,2 She married Patrick Hopper on 11 February 1854 in Henry, Marshall County, Illinois, United States; The couple applied for their marriage license on January 30, 1864.3 Bridget Murnane died on 9 June 1918 in Bruce Township, Streator, LaSalle County, Illinois, United States, at age 80.2 She was buried on 12 June 1918 in Lostlands Cemetery, Streator, LaSalle County, Illinois, United States.2
     She immigrated with Patrick Murnane on 18 December 1849 to New York, New York, United States; Also listed in the record traveling with Patrick's family was a Widow Murnane (aged 54), her son Patrick (aged 20), and Margaret (aged 14). This is Nora Keaffe, widow of James Murnane. We assume that Patrick's other sons, John, Patrick and James, had died before 1849. His daughters, Mary, Ann and Elizabeth, may have died or may have married before 1849. Also listed is Michael Murnane: this person is not the son of Patrick and Ann, but rather the son of Michael and Julia English Murnane, Patrick's nephew.4 Bridget Murnane appeared on the census of 3 September 1850 in the household of Patrick Murnane in East Bloomfield Township, Ontario County, New York, United States; Michael Murnane is probably not the son of Patrick and Ann Murnane, but rather the son of Thomas and Johanna Malone Murnane.5 Bridget Murnane appeared on the census of 28 June 1860 in the household of Patrick Hopper in Osage Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, United States.6 Bridget Murnane appeared on the census of 27 July 1870 in the household of Patrick Hopper in Osage Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, United States.7 Patrick Murnane was New Tag Patrick sold three lots (32, 33, and 34) in the Davis Addition in Henryto Bridget Hopper on March 18, 1874. Note that Bridget Hopper is Patrick's daughter. The "sale" may have been a transfer of property have the death of her parents. on 18 March 1874 in Henry, Marshall County, Illinois, United States.8 Bridget Murnane appeared on the census of 16 June 1880 in the household of Patrick Hopper in Osage Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, United States.9 Bridget Murnane appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 in Osage Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, United States; Mary's birth is listed as October 1868, probably a type for 1858.10 She appeared on the census of 22 April 1910 in Streator, LaSalle County, Illinois, United States.11
