     Jacob Simmer was born in March 1852 in Germany.2 He married Mary Ryan, daughter of John Ryan and Winnefred Ryan, on 8 April 1885 in Bradford, Stark County, Illinois, United States; Jacob's parents are listed as Adam and Eliza Steinz Zimmer, and that he was born in Germany. Witnesses were Henry Dackler and Hannah Ryan.3 Jacob Simmer died in 1933 in Jamaica, Guthrie County, Iowa, United States.4 He was buried in St. Marys Cemetery, Guthrie County, Iowa, United States.4
