Birth*Ellen McCarty was born in March, 1830 in County Clare, Ireland.4 
She was the daughter of John McCarty and Ellen _____.3 
Immigration*Ellen McCarty immigrated on June 9, 1842 to New York, New York. The record indicates that the family departed from Cobh, Ireland.5,3 
Marriage*She married Michael Murnane, son of Patrick Murnane and Anne Adams, on January 4, 1852 in Buffalo, New York. This may not be the correct Michael and Ellen Murnane. Note that Michael and Ellen's first child, Mary, was born in 1859 in Illinois. If she was the first child, then one would expect that the marriage would have occurred closer to 1858, perhaps in Marshall County. However, the newspaper clipping is very clear that she was born in County Clare and married around 1850 in Buffalo, New York. Perhaps there were earlier children who died.6,4

Death*Ellen McCarty died circa March 24, 1910 in Henry, Marshall County, Illinois. Ellen died in the home of her daughter Minnie Dwyer.11
