| Note* | Bigraphical Note (Copied from Caleb Johnson's mayflowerhistory.com.) The Billington family may have originated from around Cowbit and Spaulding, in Lincolnshire, England. Children John and Francis came with parents John and Eleanor on the Mayflower. No baptism record has been found for either John or Francis. Son John got lost in the woods in May 1621, and was taken by Indians to Nauset, out on Cape Cod. The Pilgrims organized an expedition to bring him home (recounted in detail in Mourt's Relation), and arrived to find him well, and behung with beads. John was named in the 1627 Division of Land, but was not alive when his father was executed for murder in September 1630. |
