The O'Dea Families

     John O'Dea was born on January 27, 1889 in Milltown in the Parish of Aglishcormick, County Limerick. Godparents were Robert O'Dea and Helen Egan.¹ He was the son of Robert O'Dea and Margaret Egan. John O'Dea died on April 1, 1923 in Glen of Arthlow, Lisfarnane, County Tipperary, at age 34. He was killed in action at the Glen of Arthlow. We believe he was on the lookout with Gerry Kiely in action in the Glen of Aherlow. Dan Breen threw out a granade and they were unaware and were killed from it. There is a small plack on the wall outside Rooneys pub in Lisfarnane . He was buried in Kilteely Churchyard, Kilteely, County Limerick.²
