The O'Dea Families

     William Ryan was born on December 13, 1812 in Solohead and Oola, County Limerick. Godparents were John Ryan and Bridget Hogan. A short biographical note on William written in 1887 states that he was born in 1818 in Tipperary. Note that Solohead and Oola were often condidered a part of Tipperary rather than Limerick in the early 19th century.¹ He was the son of Cornelius Ryan and Hanora Donnell.¹ William Ryan died on June 19, 1880 in La Prairie Township, Marshall County, Illinois, at age 67. He was buried in St. Patrick Cemetery, Marshall County, Illinois.
     He immigrated on June 18, 1847 to New York, New York.
