Mary Kennedy was born on August 19, 1817 in Foilaclera in the Parish of Doon, County Limerick. Godparents were Patrick Dwyer and Johanna Kennedy. Her DOB is given as 1827, but this must be incorrect since she had her first child in 1837. Her probably date of birth is 1818.1 She was the daughter of Bryan Kennedy and Elizabeth O'Dea. Mary Kennedy married Denis Ryan in County Limerick.
