Cornelius English was born on March 15, 1833 in Boherroe in the Parish of Aglishcormick, County Limerick. Godparents were Michael English and Ellen Guerin. He was the son of John English and Bridget Clancy. Cornelius English married Catherine O'Dea, daughter of John O'Dea and Catherine Hayes, on February 13, 1872 in Dromkeen Church, Dromkeen, County Limerick. Cornelius Clancy and Mary O'Dea were witnesses at the wedding. Cornelius English died on January 18, 1885 in County Limerick at age 51.
